When I was a little girl I loved to read!
When I was a little girl I loved to read. Every week Mom and Dad would drop me and my brothers and sister off at the public library. They would come back in two hours after the grocery shopping had been done and pick us up. That Saturday afternoon trip to the library was the highlight of the week for me. I would wander up and down the stacks of books picking out the books that I would read during the coming week. I usually checked out between five and ten books per week.
When I got home from the library I could hardly wait to start reading! I would pile all the books up on my bed. In the afternoon I would lay across my bed and read for hours. When it was time for bed, I would sit up in bed and read while everyone else was sleeping. I read all kinds of books. I loved books with horse stories, fairy stories, adventures, mysteries and fantasy.
My mother would get mad at me because she would yell up the stairs at me to come down and help clean house. I would answer back that I would be down in a few minutes, but instead I could continue reading. I just had to find out what happened in the next chapter. My mother would also get mad at me because I would not take the books off my bed when I went to sleep. I just shoved them to one side of the bed and I slept on the other side of the bed.
We did not have a television when I was little, My father did not believe that it was good for us to watch too much T.V. Finally, when we did get a T.V., we were not allowed to watch much of it. I didn't mind anyway, I would much rather read my books.
